No matter what anyone tries to delude you into believing about love being unconditional or everlasting, they're all just blowing smoke up your ass. All relationships are transactional, and people stop valuing them once they realize that the exchange between them and others is so imbalanced that they don't find maintaining it to be worthwhile anymore.
You are getting what you want and in return provide what you want to in order for your relationship to perpetuate. Your coworkers do the same, and have their own criteria for what a good balance is in their relationships. You don't know what their expectations are, or what they get in return.
Comparisons aren't worthwhile to make when you don't know all the factors. If you're content, then that's all that matters.
