The sad truth is that Filipe's love for Europe is going to be his ruin. He spent his entire career getting praise as a genius for making obvious or naïve statements, depending on the occasion, and adding the Europe label to them for credibility. Now he's jeopardising what was a decent work so far just so that he can LARP as a European manager.

Filipe Luís wants Flamengo to play a high pace, high intensity football with mobile forwards that drop deep to regain possession, press the opposition's defence and can escape in quick counters. He wants smart midfielders who are equally good at dribbling, pressing, marking and supporting offensive plays. And not only he wants to do that in the sweet 30°C winters of Rio, but he wants to do that with a squad of shitters. It's like he doesn't understand that a complete forward, a fast and physically imposing playmaker or any of the players needed to play like PSG are already in Europe.
He gets to pick between Pedro (a bichado goalscorer) or Juninho (pacey forward that runs and does nothing else). Filipe was also slow and had shit stamina when he played for Flamengo, too. So it's curious that now he things running up and down for 90 minutes is essential for a player.
