The USA primarily (with a little help from the UK) annihilated German industry completely from 1943-1945 alone, with a 95-99% reduction in industry in Germany proper and its occupied lands and allies including Romania, Italy, and Vichy France by air bombing. To put it simply, Nazi Germany did not possess the force large enough to cross the channel successfully without losing over half of its force in the crossing to British air and sea power, and that was before major USA involvement. At the time the UK official and merchant navy was the 2nd or 3rd largest such force on Earth, after only the USA and Imperial Japan, and the USA only pulled ahead starting around 1943.
