He's up against Dr. Doom, Elsa, Batman, Sonic (and unlike Demid Slayer, Sonic has ACTUALLY proven it's a box office juggernaut) and Miles Morales as the final boss (Spider-Verse finale is both going to far eclipse Kokushibo AND it will an Oscar. Aniplex tried to submit Mugen Train once into the Oscar and got immediately rejected btw). The samurai loser isn't getting mogged by the samurai cosplayers, he's getting mogged by a black boy from Brooklyn wearing spandex as he kills himself and his whole jobber bloodline out of shame, lmao.
Even the Gundam creator kneels to Spider-Verse and knows himself no Japanese animation will ever top it.
