I was pretty sure it was open wide in my game when the shit hit the fan. So I went to check out in the toolset. And let me tell you, I want to get off Valine's wild ride. See the pic.
1) The mansion layout changed greatly. In v1, the treasury was in Tony's room. Before the attack, the door was closed, and it was empty. After the attack, indeed, there were opened chests, clearly to show the player that the Family got robbed big time - it's even mentioned in later dialogues. In v2, you never actually see those chests during the escape, which slightly robs you of immersion.
2) The hidden vault in v2. The key doesn't exist, and there are no alternative entrances to the room. Plenty of safes in there, and it looks like a lair of sorts, so I suppose that's where the gold is kept in this ver. My guess? Valine probably planned the upper floor to be playable during the fire, but in the end decided to cut it.
3) There are two copies of Tony's room in v2. One is the normal one, and another - with two adjusted empty rooms, one of which served as a 'storage room' for sargozians. That's where 'Tony gets killed scene' takes place, I presume.
Also, in v2 there's a 'normal' version of the lower floor, it's fully furnished, but we never really explore it.
