To be honest by the standarts of necron madness/psychosis he seems to be pretty functional, he isn't wearing people's skins, changing his whole court to just scarabs out of paranoia or making up plans to turn into the sun. He's probably the most artistically and culturally tuned necron out of their entirely species and some of his interactions with Orikan in TI&TD, specially the ones where he shows interest and care for other cultures while still trying his best to salvage and preserve his own, are quite interesting. It's kinda grim that he is treated both by the fanbase and GW as a gimmicky Deadpool type character when in reality he's probably one of the best examples for "The necron's plight" (immortality and the flesh change killing their minds, ambitions and culture which was constantly evolving, shifting and tragic due to the constant experience with death bringing about newer generations constantly and death obsessed cultures like the egyptians the aztecs just being really fucking cool in real life)

They are bad books. I could never possibly sit down and take time of my day to read them. But they make for great audiobook companion pieces, specially since I take a lot of time to drive to work, which seems to be the general supposed way to enjoy them. Im a pretty big prosefag so the general lack of good use of language and dialogue in most genre fiction works makes me feel yucky but aside from that they really are just audio shows. I mean it's better than most stuff on YouTube these days and I would much rather listen to a novel over a lore video either way... Maybe im just too elitist since I really enjoy "classical" and "high concept" literature (which isnt as hard to get into as people make it to be and doesn't make anyone special) as most of my friends accuse me of being but I can only and ONLY enjoy them as audiobooks
