The prevailing theory (As theorized by me, an amateur theorist) is that Players like Diaphone, Broski, and Brian F may strugle with a switch to Modern because they've spent so many years playing classic styled controls in SF games that trying to go to modern is akin to trying to paddle upstream. And it only gets worse if you try to use a character you're intimately familiar with, like Diaphone and his AKI.
