Just realized his hair is naturally parted like OoT Link's. He's also got that stone-faced determined look as his default expression, which also fits OoT Link to a degree. Maybe it's an OoT adaptation after all.
The only real issue is the huge jawline and the freckles, but maybe they'll use Wes Ball's expertise to fix that with CGI, AI or deepfake tweaking.
