People need to quit blaming Miyamoto for everything that happens in Mario. Do you think he cares if people like funny garlic fart man? He's busy making his Donkey Kong theme park and playing the bongos. Does anyone seriously think he would take this picture posing with Rare DK if the very sight made him projectile vomit?
Face facts: he does not give a single flying fuck about
>DK's eye ridges
>Rare
>Wario
>Waluigi
>Wapeach
>Toads wearing hats
>Goombas wearing clothes
Or whatever else everybody has unilaterally decided was Miyamoto pitching a fit. It's not him. It's objectively classic corporate decisions from the top where they ask "Has this been done before and was successful? If not we don't want to fund it" and that's the end of that. Blame the board and the shareholders for never wanting to experiment, you can see them complain every time Nintendo tries something new in their shareholder meetings.
Also Tanabe is a hack and has spent most of his career blaming everyone else for his personal shortcomings.
