Second reason is that it's an international website with upvotes and downvotes. If you go there saying "we should think about others" you are always going to get more upvotes than "fuck everyone else, everything for me, me, me" which means right-wingers get pushed down making it seem even more leftist. Yes that is the core ideologies distilled down to a couple of words. Thinking of others at your expense vs. thinking of yourself at others' expense.
