Gou manga is largely the same with some differences towards the end. Meguri, the sotsu equivalent, was much better than the anime but still has plenty of its own problems. A lot of Sotsu's issues stem from the core premise and shit that can't really be changed, but the manga author made an effort. At the very least, the gang is actually relevant in Meguri, which is one of the biggest problems the anime had. Still pales in comparison to the OG story of course, but at least it didn't feel like Sotsu spitting in my face
