Sirroco is a substantial upgrade over the mote for most things.
All amp prisms (including sirroco and the gilded mote amp) give mastery points, so grind them in ESO before dumping them.
147 is very good for general use and works well enough in any activity. 777 is for minmaxing shitters grinding dumb activities endlessly. Throw together any dumb amp when you can and it will be better than the free amps. Certus brace is the best, but it's a long grind.
Focus schools do more than amps. Amps also need arcanes for maximum performance, but that comes later.
