I'm not saying the show would be better if they just sat on the couch for 20 minutes per episode and commented on music videos, but I'd argue the whole music video thing is what made the show special.
I discovered different genres and artists just because of the association to B&B.

It's just cool to see some hillbilly thrash metal music video being played in a show with dumb humor.
But yes, if you dislike the music in general, it's rather annoying. I had episodes where all the songs were trash and it made the whole episode worse.
