End times prophecies have permanently mindbroken so many people. It wouldn't annoy me so much if it wasn't personal, as I have family who believe in all this shit despite attempts to reason with them and offer alternatives. These stories provide a projecting medium for one's psychological state, and in the religious form, it traps this state in a place of unfulfilled expectation, where introspecting activities are stalled. Apocalypse and revelation are words that mean 'awakening' or 'disclosure'. Nothing you read from a holy book or supposed prophet should be taken literally. Sure, we might collectively summon some catastrophic world events to the degree that we share poorly processed psychological states of development, and some may partially seem to be starting because weirdos in Israel and their golems abroad with too much power literally orchestrate world events to fulfill their own wacky end times fantasies, but the more extreme ends of predictions aren't going to ever happen.

It's very sad to me how much mental energy people have spent over the past millennia on trying to correlate world events with religious prophecies, as opposed to a symbolic examination that delves into themselves internally, as opposed to purely externally.

Yeah, the future is gonna be a little weird and might get kinda nuts from time to time, but these prophecies are going to only give you minimal and wrong-headed predictive powers, leaving you wholly unprepared in terms of the mentality and skills of discernment you need to weather whatever adversity may come.
