Israel is basically a research laboratory for weapons, and our military industries are deeply interconnected. The military aid is spent on American weapons so it basically functions as an indirect subsidy to American defense corporations.

That's a good argument, although I think it has less to do with Bibi wanting to stay in power (although sure, I'll grant that it's a factor) than the fact that Iran cannot prevent Israel from doing this now, because Hezbollah has been destroyed, and Iran's lifeline to them via Syria has also been cut off. I also think you underestimate how big of a grudge American foreign policy elites, senior military people, and glowies in Washington D.C. have for Iran which goes back to the humiliating experience of the embassy crisis in 1979, Iranian proxy attacks on the U.S. Marine barracks in Lebanon, the torture and murder of the CIA station chief in Beirut, and the killing of American troops in Iraq by Iranian-backed militias. Now, this isn't exactly a good reason for starting another war, and it might seem like a long time ago, but these people have long memories and want payback.
