>Initially freaked out when D1G-g2r's first distress recording played from my controller's speakers.
Yea, me too. Took me a little bit to figure out where it was coming from.

>i bet more people would have bought this and receptive to it if it was a bit cheaper.

I don't know about that. While Stellar Blade has found success, I don't think it's appeal is that mainstream. The audience most interested in the game is probably willing to pay a higher price for what it offers.

As for the negativity, I think Price is way down the list. First, it was a Playstation exclusive, so any PC/Nintendo/Xbox fan would take issue with it. Then its abundant fanservice brought it into the culture war. Then there were also people who took issue with it because it was made by Koreans. Oh, and as the PC launch approached, Region Lock/Denuvo complaints were abundant.

While price complaints do come up, they're split into two groups. There's one group that say they'll wait for a sale, but this group will probably keep wanting steeper discounts as the game gets older. They're patient and often have big backlog of games, so I don't think they'd buy at a lower price point anyways. The other group can't afford the game, but want to get it anyways and some might eventually give into the temptation.

In general, a lot of people are turned off by premium prices these days. Even Nintendo is reckoning with that which is kind of surprising since many Nintendo Switch games STILL sell for almost full price years later. There are just a lot of cheaper options from F2P games to indies to older games that go for cheap.
