You need to move things and pipes are the best thing for the task.
The asteroid spanning 50kw power cable is just whatever, metal is free, transmission is instant and a "power spine" is nearly the same thing as having zerg creep in starcraft.

You can also waste a couple hours figuring out how to lay some fucking pipes in a manner that won't fuck up with future builds.
