>JRA description
"Speed is the truth
What to pursue is speed
You just have to believe that and move on.
honor and praise
will surely follow
Don't even pay attention to anything else
Walk only on it.
to shine in this world
Stick to it.
Speed is the truth
Believe that and go ahead."
>A horse produced by the Shadai Group's Northern Farm, he was one of the best sprinters in JRA history. The name is a combination of the official name of the owner, Sakura Commerce + Bakushin (驀進), meaning to move forward with strength, and Oh (王), meaning king of thoroughbreds.
>In the 1200m and 1400m, he showed overwhelming force with a total of 11 wins out of 12, but from the 1600m onwards, he had zero wins period.
>Horse racing as a whole changed because of him. Sprinting, previously thought little of, had gained recognition due to the power of Bakushin.
>When discussing Nishino Flower, a filly who was still relatively underappreciated at the time, the most important comment in terms of how great she was was that she "beat Sakura Bakushin O within 1400m." Achieving that alone could make a horse famous.
>In retirement, he lived as a stallion at Shaddai Stallion Station, Japan's best stallion facility, and showed a strong genetic power to pass down short-distance speed to his children. He was the only sire specializing in sprints and showed steady performance in the top 10 of the leading sire rankings. Demand for his pedigree was so high that he was mated with over 100 mares each year.
>He died at 22 of heart failure from too much Bakushin-powered segggs.

>In the anime and game, she always says that she loves sunny days and hates rainy days because she doesn’t like getting wet. This is due to the actual horse not being able to perform well on rainy/bad conditioned tracks. Trainer Sakai was quoted as saying “This horse’s enemy is rain.”
>Despite the three biggest stallions being foreign horses Sunday Silence, Brian’s Time and Tony Bin, Sakura Bakushin O was able to become a top stallion only second to Sunday Silence, despite being domestically bred in Japan.
>In 2001, he was also included in the overall ranking of “best stallions”.
>His blood is still carried around today. He is the damsire/grandfather of Kitasan Black.
>Commentator Tatsuya Aoshima is lovingly nicknamed “Aoshima Bakushin O” due to his habit to bakushin through his commentaries whenever a race becomes exciting (also for the fact that his speaking speed doesn’t last for very long).
>Before Lord Kanaloa, he was regarded as the best sprinter ever. There is still debate on to whom that title goes now.
