Great beginner's guide to Pretty Derby and an introduction to all the mechanics, career mode, menu and skills etc. Very well done and would recommend this for anyone starting out.
>>714042976Varies on the horse. Many of them are pretty rude though. If they're too aggressive they'll tend to get gelded which calms them down a fair bit, though with race horses especially that isn't desirable since it lowers their value as potential sires down the line.

Mihono Bourbon Factoids
>Mihono Bourbon’s pedigree suggests a short/mile/speed aptitude but his trainer, Toyama Tameo (Referenced in season 2 of the anime), wanted to lengthen his distance range and started doing hardcore Sparta training on him.
>In contrast to regular horses, who would probably not be able to handle more than one slope training session a day, Mihono Bourbon managed to handle four of them a day with ease (and even five at one point), making people wonder if he was actually a real horse.
>After his training, he always eats a lot of grass.
>Despite all the controversial Sparta training he was put through, he was obedient and complied with all this.
>His nicknames?
>Cyborg: People speculated that Mihono Bourbon was not a real horse because of how hard his training was and because of his very bulky body, which influences horse girl Mihono Bourbon’s personality.
>Incline Prodigy: Because of how many slope training sessions he had a day, he managed to do very well on racecourses with hills. This is her Uma Musume nickname.
>Precise Machinery: He is able to run at about the same pace from start to finish.
>The Winds of Sparta: His JRA catchphrase.
>The Chestnut Super Express: Because of his chestnut coloured hair.
>After retiring, Mihono Bourbon became very lazy (probably due to the Spartan training he received before). He also likes to slide his body through the floor under a side lying position because he's too lazy to get up and walk (don’t ask me how, but he just did it).
>Kind of just a lazy fuck to begin with before he became a racehorse. Doesn’t really like to move or interact with other horses at all.
>Mihono Bourbon enjoys the cool air from a blowing fan. The fan that used to make his life comfortable is still preserved in the stable that used to house him, and was one of the items being exhibited in the “Mihono Bourbon Memorial Room”.

Rice Shower Factoids (1/2)
>Name origin: A rice shower is customary in westernised weddings, where guests will throw rice at a newly married couple to bless them with eternal happiness.
>The blue flare in her eyes seen in the anime is a reference to the IRL JRA’s commercial series, "The Winner", which aired in 2012.
>The Commercial in question presented them with the following
"In the 1993 Spring Tennou Sho,
With a strained body being possessed by demon,
This dark black stayer prevented Mejiro McQueen’s third consecutive wins.
Was he a heel, or a hero? Was it a nightmare, or a miracle?
The name for the winning horse was…
RICE SHOWER"
>Fan opinion surrounding Rice Shower was much like it is in the anime. Viewed as a show-stealing killjoy that prevented the fan-favourite's from receiving their accolade's. Rice Shower was called a 'Heel' and the 'Black Assassin' by the press.
>Their Jockey, Matoba, found this incredibly insulting.
>Though it just made them train Rice even harder after over-coming Bourbon, akin to how Rice motivated herself in the show.
>>714045051Rice Shower Factoids (2/2)
>When the training was complete and the horse appeared for his race against McQueen, fans in attendance, commentators and Matoba himself were imposed upon by it's awesome presence. >"What a beast, an incredible creature. When you approach him you can almost see fire bursting out from it. I am a bit terrified, like what I am about to ride is not a horse, but something superior. If I did not please him I probably would get a finger or toe bitten off.” - Matoba >McQueen, like in the anime, seemed afraid to enter the starting gate. It's possible it felt Shower's immense will to win. Or maybe it was hungry or something. >After it's win, there wasn't positive reception like in the show. Instead fans were only more angry about Shower 'stealing' from McQueen. >"All racing horses (and jockeys) were desperately aiming for wins. No one should be called a heel for that.” - Matoba >Not long after this incredible victory however, tragedy struck >Rice Shower was initially not going to run in the Takarazuka Kinen at first— However, his owner wanted to boost his value as a sire and in order for that, his horse needed to win a mid-distance race. Therefore, he chose the Takarazuka Kinen as Rice Shower’s retirement race.>During the race Rice would collapse, suffering a double injury to it's front legs. A tent was brought out for the sake of privacy and Shower was euthanized. >Reception toward Rice Shower had very slowly begun to swing out of the unfair hatred aimed toward it, with it's demise causing a total shift. >Remembered today with these words from the JRA commercials, spoken as well in the anime by Bourbon. >“You are not a heel, you are a hero.”
>>714042929 (OP)I think I prefer the game models over the anime...
>>714045051>>714045164>that ending>“You are not a heel, you are a hero.”I already felt bad for in-game rice shower

>>714044725I spent more than 2 hours rerolling and it was the first time Creek showed up so I think I'm good
>>714045530Rice Shower's story is pretty damn sad. All the more so perhaps because it was only given wide-spread positive coverage after it's collapse. Hated in life, beloved in death. Thankfully the Uma version can subvert that fate. A second chance for the hero dismissed as a heel.
I'm still rerolling.

Maruzensky Factoids
>Completely Undefeated Across His Entire Career. (8 wins, 0 losses).
>Name origin: A modification of his father’s name, Nijinsky.
>He was named before he was born. If the foal turned out to be a filly, she would have been called “Miss Maruzen.”
>Her first skill animation is a reference to his nickname back in his time,“ Super Car”. At the time, super cars were just starting to be manufactured and the Lamborghini Miura was the first car produced during 1966-1973. His dominance and the fact that his jockey’s racing silk has very similar colours to the Miura were the reasons he attained the nickname.
>He also had another nickname: Black Ship (referencing the black ships that came from the United States to Japan in the 1800s. Maruzensky was brought over from the US). This was in part given in genuine contempt.
>>714046383(2/2)
>In the game, there are two events that mirror his racing life: >In the Spring Stakes, there will only be five racers. During that time, nobody wanted to race against Maruzensky (due to fear of it's dominance) so most owners withdrew their horses from the race.>In the Derby where they will always race in the outer-most gate, which is very disadvantageous for Maruzensky’s escapist strategy. As Maruzensky was a foreign born horse and there were restrictions on foreign horses during that time, nobody would allow him to run in the classic races despite his record. His jockey, Wataru Nakano, was very depressed, saying, “It’s okay to place him in the outermost gate. He won’t be in the way of anyone. We don’t need the prize money either, we just want to exhibit his strength. So please let Maruzensky run in the Derby.” >Wataru's pleas went unheard, and they were denied the Honour of a Derby Run. (They'd probably have won). >He is the oldest racehorse to be adapted into the game so far (though not the oldest horse out-right, that goes to one of the three goddesses).>Currently has the most descendants in the game. With the addition of Special Week’s daughters, Maruzensky currently has the longest generational span in Uma Musume.>A couple of his off-spring have gone on to win the Derby, in a way making up for the managerial errs of the past.

Nice Nature Factoids (1/2)
>His nickname is “Mr. Number 3” and “Bronze Collector”, for usually finishing in third in races (especially Arima Kinen).
>Nice Nature is one of the three horses that made to the JRA fan voting “Top 100 20th century dream horse” lists that had never won a GI title (he ranked in 71st).
>Among all of the horses that had never won a GI title in Japan, Nice Nature won the most prize money.
>This title, however, was taken by Deep Bond in May 2023.
>Has a leg belt on her left leg, because her IRL counterpart has an injury on his left leg too.
>Had a very strong relationship with his trainer and stablekeeper, Baba Hideki.
>When Nice Nature was being selfish due to temperament issues, Baba did not get angry with him and was patient. Eventually, this soothed Nice Nature and he would walk behind Baba without any reins.
>Eventually, it got to the point that Nice Nature could walk behind him without a tug.
>>714047273(2/2)
>Nice Nature would refuse to race, train nor even play if Baba wasn't close-by. Shigeru Inagaki commented that, “It is very rare for a horse and a person to have that much trust in each other.”>Before the week of a race, Baba would mix pit viper powder into Nice Nature’s feed (which is good for horse’s health). Pit viper powder costs 15,000 yen per serving but Baba paid for them out of his own pockets.>Upon discovering the leg injury that would cause Nice Nature to retire, and despite it being so small that it would be okay for him to race in the Arima Kinen to create the record, Baba pleaded to Yoshiharu Matsunaga to let Nice Nature retire with tears in his eyes. And trainer Matsunaga replied: “If it’s a request from you (Baba), the man who knows Nice Nature the most in this world, then I have to comply.”>The reason why Baba grew very concerned was because he saw what happened to Rice Shower in the 1995 Takarazuka Kinen.>Nice Nature was a very popular and beloved horse. Many fans would send letters to the training centre to express their gratitude to Nice Nature because they had been encouraged by the horse. He was the most visited horse at Ritto Training Center at the time.>Nice Nature has long served as the model horse to promote welfare programs for retired horses. Every year on his birthday, there’s a crowdfunding to gather money to help the retired horses. Usually it gathers about a million yen. However, the popularity of Uma Musume boosted that money significantly. His 2021 crowdfunding gathered near 36 million yen, in 2022 it boosted to 54 million yen.>Nice Nature was usually paired with another retired horse - Meteor Shower (currently 27 years old), in the retirement farm. He used to have a third companion named Saint Missile, who has now passed away.>Nice Nature and Meteor Shower fought for carrots all the time.>And Nice Nature could get very frustrated if Meteor Shower wasn't in sight.

>>714049959she's my uma wife but I failed to get 8/8 goals 5 times and gave up. Cleared them easily as Bakushin and Shuttle. I'll try again with more SSR support cards
It's a messy mixed bag.
You've got the 'vague feeling' type of familial shout-out. Whenever Bakushin and Kitasan Black interact, they'll both note feeling something 'familiar' about each other- Which never gets expanded upon, only really relevant to people who know Bakushin is Kitasan's grand-dad IRL. You'll also get plenty of interactions of Agnes doting on Scarlet, but they'll never just out-right say it's because they're kin.
Then you get the 'direct' types. Like the Mejiro's, who all openly acknowledge each other as family. Because other-wise it'd be hard to get around the fact that they're all wearing the same name. Goldship being related to McQueen is never brought up though (but is the writing room motivation behind having them mess with each other so much).
Then you've got the cases where the anime/game will invent family for the horse girls. But even those figures will tend to be references to trainers, jockeys or owners in some way, shape or form.
Reminder all umas with a right-side hair ornament has a fat horse cock
End the ruse. Make her playable.
>>714051158It's a training sim. You "build" your horse girl during each run. It's basically a game about resource management, decision making and randomness mitigation. The sum of your decisions and the different random events are then regularly tested during races (that you don't play).

Some of these generic umas are pretty cute. Are they also based on real ones? It'd be neat to see a custom uma maker somewhere down the line.
Does each career progress the same for each individual Uma on repeats? I was like 20 points shy of a great skill, did and optional race, and then the next two story races are back to back and I get fucked by ruining my mood and health for running 3 in a row. How am I supposed to know how far apart the next races are?

>>714049840You can kinda cheese her way to victory, you just put her as Front runner and just spam Speed stat. Her races are almost all Sprint so she won't need the stamina at all, and since she is running in front she won't need Power to push through anyone as long as she's fast as fuck, just adjust your cards to give front runners and sprint support.
That feeling of watching your uma come back and win is so good. I'm really enjoying the game
Finally won my first career run! THAT'S MY FUCKIN' GIRL; NUMBER 1 UMAMUSUME BABYYYYYY
I was genuinely worried she'd choke in the URA Finale Finals since she was clearly understatted (in everything except speed) and I'd needed to burn my last two retries getting through the qualifiers and semifinals, but no, she popped like 6 skills and annihilated the competition. I am so goddamn proud of her
Also it was kinda amusing how many free stats they gave out AFTER all the races were done. I guess it's to buff her up for the team race stuff?

>>714064272>stamina/guts are useless when it comes to sprint/mile races, and power is useless for Front Runners, so you can train speed and win effortlesslyDidn't knew power was useless for front runners. Gonna give this a go again tomorrow.
>>714064272What about the other stats? Do I literally just dump everything on speed?
>>714064493For her? Yes. For other horses it depends since you are more likely to get longer races which actually require some stamina.
>>714064272No wonder my Shuttle didn't get further in the URA finals, I gave her stats she didn't need whatsoever
>>714064371It only matters if someone is stealing the lead from you, but in those cases you should have enough power to overtake them since training speed also gives a decent amount of Power.
>>714064493You should aim for a baseline of 400 Wit so you can reliably activate skills, but you don't really need skills when you're 4 lengths ahead of everyone for the entire race. Like the other anon mentioned, medium/long distance sprinters need 400-600 stamina or enough guts to endure the race, but like I said, Bakushin only does sprint/mile races in her career.

Super Creek Factoids
>Name origin: Super Creek was actually born with a defect: his left foreleg turned outward. Nobody bought him in auctions so the owner of the farm that bred him asked his friend to buy him. The reasoning behind the name: “He’s a small creek now but I hope he becomes a big river in the future”.
>In-Game Motherly personality comes from how the horse ‘nurtured’ Yutaka Take towards his first GI win (and the record for youngest jockey to win a GI, at 19 years old). Super Creek facilitated his growth into a genius jockey.
>Take said: “This is the first horse I fell in love with, and I won’t give him to anyone.” He even talked to the horse with baby talk, like how a parent talks to a child.
>He was also nicknamed “Take Yutaka’s wife” at the time.
>Super Creek was also a very calm horse, one of the calmest stallions that his breeding farm’s owner had ever seen.
>Super Creek was more of a heel character during his time. When he beat Oguri Cap in 1989 Fall Tenno, Take received a lot of harassment letters from haters. So for a period of time, Take hated Oguri Cap a lot.
>He won’t eat carrots unless they're sliced in equal pieces.
>If other horses try to pick a fight with him, he'd fight back without hesitation.
>Usually it’s always the jockey who picks and chooses the horse they are going to ride. But when Take Yutaka visited Ito training stable before the 1988 Kikka-Sho to pick his partner, Super Creek bit Take’s sleeves and didn't let him go, like the horse was picking Take to jockey him. This is why Super Creek is the one to choose you as trainer and not the other way around.

Kitasan Black Factoids
>BAKUSHIN's Grand-Son
>Purchased by Kitajima Saburo, a popular Japanese singer.
>Kitasan Black’s race outfit is based on Saburo’s “festival dress”. He wears it every time he sings the song “Matsuri”. This is also why Kitasan's likes Festivals in the anime and game.
>The reason why Owner Saburo purchased him is because Saburo thought Kitasan Black has “very cool eyes and a handsome face, just like me."
>Was regarded as a “perfect” horse without obvious weaknesses. Tame, easy to jockey, smart, paced and acted well in races. Tough, healthy, free of injuries, and has no mental, emotional, and temperamental problems.
>That being said, many fans thought he is the weakest among all of the seven-crown horses, due to his inconsistent performances.
>Also had a habit of getting upset if another horse was running in his style and in close proximity.
>Kitasan Black won seven GI titles, more than 1.8 billion yen of prize money, and became a JRA hall of fame horse. He broke the Japanese horse prize record created by TM Opera O several years back.
>Kitasan Black’s prize money record was broken by Almond Eye in 2020.
>Total fat fuck, usually around 530 kg. He is also the heaviest horse to ever win Arima Kinen (540kg at the time).
>Had the unique talent to sleep anywhere and on any surface, but would throw a tantrum if awoken early. Only thing that could make him mad according to his trainer.
>Kitasan Black was never able to defeat Duramente in his life.
>In the anime, Kitasan Black admires Tokai Teio, but ironically, it’s Duramente that had a Teio-esque career. Kitasan Black’s race life was closer to Mejiro McQueen.
>Kitasan Black and Satono Diamond being paired in the anime is fairly random, as they only raced twice and weren't even considered rivals. Very akin to Special Week and Silence Suzuka being paired up. Someone at Cygames is just doing whatever the hell they want.

>>714069657Few, unfortunately.

Duramente Factoids (Some of this will come off mean to Kitasan unfortunately)
>Duramente broke the Japanese Derby time record by 0.1 seconds (2:23.1). The previous record was created by his father King Kamehameha, and shared by Deep Impact.
>He was the first Kanto (Miho) Derby horse in 6 years, since Logi Universe in 2009.
>He was the first Kanto (Miho) double-crown horse in 18 years, since Sunny Brian in 1997.
>He was also the bane of Kitasan Black's existence.
>Despite being his publicized goal to beat, Kitasan never over-came Duramente.
>Kitasan did however have another perhaps more 'personal' goal. Trainers and jockeys noted that Kitasan Black became excited when he saw the mare known as Sweep Tosho, perhaps enamoured with her.
>Duramente's team reached out to the team of the mare Sweep Tosho to organize a mating session.
>Kitasan would eventually be allowed to mate with Sweep Tosho himself, but only after Duramente.
>Potentially coincidence. Potentially a humorous jab by Duramente's team.
>Made more likely by the fact that Duramente would then be mated with Sugar Heart, Kitasan's own mother.
>In the game and anime, they furthered this idea of Duramente 'taking' things from Kitasan by having KItasan idolize Tokai Teio, a horse whom Duramente became a sort of spiritual successor to in real life.
>So much so that Duramente has his own variation on the Teio Step, the Dura Step.
>According to his groom, if he does this, it’s a warning that he will start kicking people.
>He has huge temperament issues, and was hard to deal with at times.

Mayano Top Gun Factoids
>Named after the movie 'Top Gun'
>Notably during the recent press tour for Top Gun Maverick, Mayano's voice actress got to meet Tom Cruise due to this. Irrelevant, but funny.
>His groom and stable workers called him by the nickname “Gun-chan”.
>The horse is quite moody, childish, and would refuse to do anything he absolutely doesn’t like. Including in races.
>He had a late debut due to developing osteoid osteoma, and could only run on dirt at first because it was less stressful (that’s why she gets many free turns in her scenario before the first goal race, Kikka-Sho).
>Her habit of throwing kisses up towards her fans is a reference to what his jockey would do during races.
>Gun-Chan would often decide how to run based on mood alone, leaving their jockey to just have to put up with it.
>Gun-Chan had won races with all four different running styles. (Represented in-game, funnily enough.)
>They loved to rub their head against grooms’ bodies. Very affectionate in this regard, with humans at least.
>With horses though? Gun-Chan was picky. Often refusing to mate with mares that didn't match his 'standards', but overly-eager with those that did. Apparently became far less stressed when they gave up on trying to make him a competitive mate sire.
>Gun-Chan also hates vets. He would run away if he spotted a vet from afar, and it would take a lot of time for the grooms to catch him.
>He eats the things he likes first, leaves the things he doesn't like to the last.

>>714072926You could THEORETICALLY but the results would likely be pure shit. >>714073347Damn it... My dream...

>>714073947Tachyon refers to a hypothetical particle that travels faster than the speed of light. The horse Tachyon also was known for going incredibly fast as though it was competing more with itself than the other horses. Thus they were inspired to make this horse, known for being intimidating to many, as an evil scientist pushing the boundaries of uma limitations to reach FTL racing potential.

Symboli Rudolf, Factoids of the Emperor (1/2)
>His name came from the clan name (Symboli) and the name of the Holy Roman Empire emperor Rudolf I von Habsburg.
>JRA played Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 5 "Emperor" after he won the Kikka-Sho and claimed the Triple Crown title.
>Rudolf’s race outfit possesses seven medals, referencing the number of GI races won by the horse.
>He created the “Rudolf Obstacle”; for a long time, no Japanese horse could win more central GI titles than him (applied to TM Opera O, Deep Impact, Vodka and Kitasan Black, who all also won 7 GI titles) until Almond Eye finally made the new record of 9 GIs (and even that is a new obstacle, rivalled by Oju Chosan in jump races).
>The famous passage to praise him: “There’s no absolute in horse racing, but there’s an absolute in him.”
>His name is hard for commentators to announce, so you don’t usually hear his full name in a race. There were commentators who asked if the owner could make Symboli Rudolf’s name shorter, just to be scolded by the angry owner.
>He has the tendency to slack off when he is about to hit the goal, so there were a few times other jockeys and horses were able to take advantage of this behaviour.
>Every time he notices a camera pointing at him, he makes a cool pose. Few horses share this cognizance.
>A hatred across two generations - Bizen Nishiki always lost to Symboli Rudolf in classical races, and this hatred seems to pass to his son Daitaku Helios. Whenever Tokai Teio, the son of Symboli Rudolf, met Daitaku Helios in a race, Tokai Teio always lost terribly.
>>714075242(2/2)
>The term Shonbori Rudolf already appeared in 1985 when Symboli Rudolf lost the Fall Tenno to Gallop Dyna by surprise, breaking his undefeated record. Witnesses said that Symboli Rudolf got so frustrated and wept after returning to his stable.>His baby name is “Luna”, partly coming from the name of his mother, and partly because of the crescent shaped white spot on his head.>He has a huge temperament issue, and liked to bully his mother Sweet Luna. However, whenever he did that, his grandfather (and Sweet Luna’s father) Speed Symboli would come and beat him.>He raced in the 1986 San Luis Stakes in the USA and ended up sixth place as a result of tripping on an intersecting dirt course.>His career in the USA appears to have cost him heavily, as he was never the same after-ward. >Goes absolutely nuts when he sees a vet. This trait was passed down to his son Tokai Teio.

Air Groove, Factoids of the Empress
>Became known as an 'Empress' due to fans viewing her as a cool, composed mare. However... Not all of her behaviour was in line with this.
>She loved to lick people, earning her the nickname of Pero-Chan (Licky-chan).
>She lost the Shuka-Sho because she got disturbed by the fans’ flash photography.
>JRA banned the use of flashlights directly on horses afterwards.
>Prior to the 1994 Fall Tennoshou, her owner was worried she'd be unable to find victory and opened a discussion regarding it with the trainer and assistants. An assistant trainer, Kazuhide Sasada said "Just trust in our gyaru and do it." Everyone was taken aback that Sasada considered Air Groove to be a Gyaru. It's something of a meme in the Japanese community.
>She also has a humorous relationship with Pilsudski, Fine Motion’s half elder brother:
>Before the 1997 Japan Cup started in which both competed, Pilsudski caught sight of Air Groove and suddenly bared an enormous erection.
>An erect horse will tend to perform oddly, ignoring instruction and acting on their own lust. This would come ot pass.
>During the race, Pilsudski attempted to approach Air Groove, and eventually took her over from the inner lanes to win the race. It's believed Air Groove may have run poorly due to an attempt to escape him.
>Take Yutaka commented after the race: “I did everything right, Air Groove did everything right and ran a perfect race, yet there is still a horse capable of defeating her in this situation, the world is huge…”
>After the race, Pilsudski was depicted by fans as a hentai who stalks Air Groove. He also earned the nickname “god of erection” by fans.

Air Shakur Factoids
>Their name comes from 'Air' in reference to their Clan, and Shakur from 2pac Shakur the American Rapper
>His temper was so bad, assistant trainers had to do a daily lottery draw just to see who would be stuck dealing with him for the day.
>Yutaka Take thinks the horse “gathered all the problems inherited from Sunday Silence”, and once said: “I really want to split his head open to see what’s inside”.
>He changed the work method of Mori Stable. Usually, one groom would take care of a single horse in a training stable and doesn’t care much about the others, but in Mori Stable, all grooms take care of all horses together, especially when it comes to Air Shakur.
>The '7 cm barrier' she keeps talking about references the fact that the IRL Air Shakur lost the Derby, and the triple crown, by 7 centimetres. Agnes Flight, Agnes Tachyon’s full brother, won that race.
>This is another reason why Shakur and Tachyon are frequently paired together.
>Because Air Shakur couldn’t win any race after the Kikka-Sho, he was being mocked by fans for being “the weakest double crown horse ever”.
>His generation is also frequently shit on as the 'weakest ever'.
>His death was really fucking stupid. There were accounts stating that he thought the fences tried to attack him, so he charged at the fences and died. Probably the only time this has ever happened to a race horse.

Still In Love Factoids
>The Yandere Honse
>Meant to reflect the “heavy” relationship between her and her jockey, Hideaki Miyuki.
>Hideaki Miyuki jockeyed her entire racing career. The only jockey she'd accept.
>Still in Love brought the first GI victory, and then the first triple-tiara to her jockey. Hideaki Miyuki also became the youngest jockey in JRA history to win the triple-crown/tiara, at 27 years old.
>Hideaki Miyuki gained a lot of riding chances thanks to Still in Love. One famous example is Koji Oka, who Hideaki met at a ceremony to celebrate the triple-tiara of Still in Love. Oka provided many horses for Hideaki to ride, such as Yoka Yoka and Akai Ito.
>Still In Love herself has had recorded mental issues around the end of her career
>Some fans speculated that it’s probably because Still in Love found out about Hideaki’s fiancée,
>Another reason is that she is a 3x3 inbreed from Hail To Reason, who was a very temperamental sire. It was considered risky from both a physical and mental aspect.
>There were times Hideaki was in the risk of losing the position of jockeying her (one was after he lost the 2003 Tulip-Sho), but he insisted to not separate from the horse.
>Hideaki had once stated that he wanted to run away and elope with her.
>When Still in Love died, Hideaki rushed to see her.
>Hideaki Miyuki once said, if he did not meet Still in Love, there’s no way he would continue his jockey career until today. He is “still in love” with Still in Love.
>Physically weak, the mare often was cited to have obtained victory due to psychological motivation from her trainer.
>The only triple-crown/tiara horse not in JRA’s “Heroes” series. To this day, she still does not have her own poster.
>She is sometimes referred to as the ‘weakest triple crown/tiara’ winner. After her accomplishments, she wasn’t able to win another race again due to temperament issues and her refusal to train since the 2003 Rose Stakes.
>>714078231Sadly they are dumb as fuck, like all cattle animals. Humans would have to invent a way to get the horse to stay chill and still for long periods of recovery.
>>714078110Very likely. Also, the military would force conscript them most times
>>714078231Human medical science has advanced very swiftly due to necessity. Honse medical science isn't really a necessity. So it's incredibly expensive and not all that well understood. It's entirely possible that if some billionaire put money into it for a few decades, we might get better at knowing how to treat that sort of thing. But there's also just the physiological realities that the way we've bred horses to run has messed up them up in unexpected ways.

Tamamo Cross Factoids
>His baby name is “Nishikino”. There were times he was called “Nishikino Cross”.
>Had a lot of tragedy in his early life: his farm was dirt poor (went bankrupt before Tamamo Cross became successful) and he eventually was taken away from it, his mum died, and he was very skittish and meek.
>His relatively successful little sister - Miyama Poppy, also went missing after retirement.
>Loved biting people. Trainers and jockeys in particular.
>He also bit the ass of Tikkanen (1994 BC Turf winner), an introduced stallion in his retirement farm.
>“White lightning” was the nickname given to him due to his overwhelming strength in races and the fact that he was a grey horse.
>Tamamo Cross was the first horse to win both Tenno-Shos in the same year.
>He would start to shake whenever a horse track arrived at the stable, because he knew a race was coming up.
>Had a very violent temper. Not simply in the 'fighty' sense but closer to 'psychotic' which caused other horses discomfort to be around him.
>He had a quarrel with almost every horse beside him in the retirement stable, most notably Mejiro Bright, Paradise Creek, and Tikkanen. He would chase those horses angrily (with ears folding back) in the paddocks.
>Mejiro Bright would fight back ferociously, and the general attitude became 'let them fight'.
>Taiki Shuttle tried to pick a fight with him, but was beaten in seconds. Taiki Shuttle avoided him from then onwards.
>He kicked and killed a mating partner in one mating attempt.
>Might've been because the mating partner laughed at him though.
>He is famous for having a very small penis. This made mating difficult, and could've added to his rage.

Mejiro Bright Factoids
>His baby name is “健樹” (healthy tree). The pronunciation of this name was not recorded.
>A very “my pace” type horse. He was very late-responding and would not accelerate at his jockey’s command. He also failed the gate test multiple times because of his slow reaction.
>His maiden race was very low-level and there were barely any contender horses. Although Bright won the race, fans from the stands heckled things like, “Are you walking?!”
>The average time for winning a 1800m race at the time was about 1:50, but Mejiro Bright won his maiden race with 2:01.6, eleven seconds slower than average.
>Mejiro Bright was also the least popular horse in that race.
>At the time, Mejiro Bright’s trainer Kuniichi Asami was about to retire, so he (half-jokingly) introduced the horse to his trainer friend Shuji Ito. Ito said: “I don’t want a horse that needs two minutes to finish a mile race.”
>When he is around humans, he is usually very tame, calm, and almost feels like he is sleeping peacefully. The anime and game largely depicts him in this fashion.
>But when he is around other horses, Bright would Rampage. A less explored aspect in the world of Uma Musume.
>He went absolutely insane during the gate entrance of 1998 Takarazuka Kinen, terrifying Mejiro Dober who was just beside him. Dober raced off in fear.
>Stay Gold, also present, ignored the entire incident like nothing was happening at all.
>His distaste for other horses didn’t stop when he retired. In his retirement farm, he also bit Tikkanen’s butt multiple times.
>As noted in a prior post, he had a very bad relationship with Tamamo Cross, who lived with him on the same farm.

Meisho Doto Factoids
>Was dirt cheap by horse sale standard - his owner purchased him with merely 5 million yen. He earned nearly 1 billion yen in return.>Due to a misunderstanding of language, Meisho would mimic the staff that attended to him and put on an angry face when TM Opera O was mentioned. >However when Meisho encountered TM Opera O in stables or at races, they were actually incredibly friendly. Making it likely Meisho doesn't actually know what the words TM Opera O refer to. >Never the less, when visited by TM Opera O's jockey- Ryuji Wada- Meisho became aggressive and delinquent-like. >It's possible that Meisho believes Wada is the 'TM Opera O' her team hate, and not the horse he rides. >Despite the timid nature displayed in the anime and game, Meisho was a feared horse during his day. He lost frequently to Opera O, but Only to Opera O. Making him a 'demon' to try to 'over-come' to other jockey's and their steeds. >He is surprisingly a boss horse, managing to make Taiki Shuttle and Rose Kingdom his lackeys after retirement. >It also became apparent that Meisho is, according to Japanese fans, a 'dirty old man'. Hungry for mares and the chance to breed with them. >It's said when introduced to a potential mate in his sire years, he'd stare eagerly. >He does however possess a softer side. He is fine with being surrounded by lots of goats (while Taiki Shuttle doesn’t like it). He is building a good relationship with farm cat Meto. >Bakushin: which can mean to bravely dash forward, 驀進, but to also explosively dash forward, 爆進. The latter definitely fits him more
>O: For “king”, a suffix used for male horses in the Sakura clan, save for Sakura Laurel.
>Anime and Game Bakushin is very eager, wanting to run in other higher distance races than just short distance races. IRL, his team overestimated his ability because he had amazing speed.
>His true power was just for sprint races but his team had bigger dreams because of his pedigree (his father, Sakura Yutaka O, won a lot of middle distance races), so Bakushin O would go to a mile race, not win and then completely annihilate a sprint race afterwards.
>Despite never winning any of his nine mile races, he finished in very good positions.
>The one occasion that he has lost a race under 1400m is in the 1993 Sprinter Stakes, coming in sixth to Nishino Flower. Otherwise, his record is 12 races, 11 wins.
>He broke the race record on his retirement race.
>Sakura Bakushin O was one of the reasons that JRA decided to add more sprint and mile races. At the time, sprinters/milers were still considered “lesser” in comparison to horses who could race in the classics, despite horses like Nihon Pillow Winner paving the way and proving the status quo wrong. Sakura Bakushin O, along with other sprint/mile racers like Nishino Flower and North Flight, proved that there was a difference between sprint/mile races and the classics in the end.

I am sorry Bakushin, I was unfamiliar with your game
El Condor Pasa gave me a heart attack in the finals, I think I actually won by a couple of pixels. Also she had to ran the whole career under rain EXCEPT for the finals
So is it supposed to be
>thing on their left ear: Mare IRL
>thing on their right ear: Stallion IRL
>>714085895if this doesn't work for me as well then i give up on this game.
Tokai Teio Factoids
>Name Origin: Tokai (clan name)+Teio (帝王) means ‘monarch’, deriving from Symboli Rudolf’s nickname, emperor (皇帝;Ryotei)
>Teio mimics Rudolf’s act of holding her fingers up to signal how many crowns she wins, because Teio’s jockey Takayuki Yasuda mimicked Okabe Yukio’s actions for Rudolf.
>She can perform a dance move known as the Teio Step. The IRL Teio spontaneously did this move prior to the Arima Kinen.
>The horse was also known for having very flexible joints, giving it incredible dexterity at a cost of being easy to injury.
>Teio once jumped over the farm fence (about 150cm in height) at 2-years-old. He did not run away though.
>Teio’s 1992 Japan Cup win was not adapted in the anime, but it was considered his best performance
>In this race, Teio broke the Japan Cup record on heavy track. The record remains today, 4.2 seconds faster than Rudolf under the same conditions.
>Teio also became the next Japanese horse to win the Japan Cup after his father Symboli Rudolf.
>Teio wasn’t planning to retire after his Arima Kinen victory, but was forced to by injury.
>Teio is considered a 'handsome horse' from a human perspective, but not so much to mares.
>Tokai Teio loves apples, and he thinks everyone who gives him an apple is a good person.
>Tokai Teio can tell who’s coming by just listening to the footsteps of those people, and he would rampage when hearing the footsteps of vets (according to the stable workers, Tokai Teio was already rampaging in his stable when the vet was still 30m away).
>This was probably inherited, since Symboli Rudolf also rampages whenever he sees a vet too.
>For a short period of time, Teio and McQueen stayed in the same retirement stable.
>Teio would act like a spoiled brat if he didn't get to return to the stable from the grazing ranch first.
>Tokai Teio's habitude for jumping the fence continued in later life, though he always found his way back home.
