IBO has the same problem Gquuuuux has with it's characters and plot to much lesser extent. It suffers from shit like

Mcgillis' character devovling into literal retardation in real time as the show goes on, because he's the literal reason his plan fails, and i don't mean this as just "oh he neglected this and overlooked that", no i mean he actively fucks himself over, on first hand bases.

Start a new season, introduce a new MC, give him and entire backstory and reasoning for wanting to be an MS Pilot and why he joined Tekkadan, and then you demote him to being Mika's wheel chair. There's a part of that feels like Hush was made to take over and bench Mika so that Nagai could gain back control over the writing( seeing as the end of season 1 was Mika being fully paralyzed) but this didnt fly because Okada and her supports were too attached to Mika.

I really wish there was a detail list about whos ideas were whos.
