>in Origins the Mage Tower in Ferelden was compromised, proven by endless amounts of notes from blood mages and conspiring that goes back to the players origin story where Jowan is implied to have been ratted out by Uldred
>many mages want to either become hermits or become independent of the Chantry
>theres a shitton of quests some given by mage factions that involve hunting down blood mages or even helping to disguise other blood mages from scrutiny
>theres a quest involving a rogue, elven mage who turned an entire forest of people including his own tribe into werewolves
>oh and Tevinter buys slaves and uses them for blood magic
The entirety of this happens in 1 game alone. Mages keep trying to say they're misunderstood but hand them even a sliver of power or promises of independence and they go off the deep end. Even Jowan fucks over an entire town to hide his malefecarum ways. Its like a pitbull or a brownoid telling you they wont kill a child and they do it anyways.
