Did Ishikawa kill someone at Square? Did she spontaneously "resign?" It doesn't make sense for them to change the formula that has been giving them money until now. All they had to do was let her write the story, and you can be 100% sure she would have churned out another decent main quest, with yet another male thirst bait to lure in even more fujoshi.
