Yeah yeah I get it, but you got it completely backwards. Linguistics cares little about politics. If you're looking at a phonem or a syntax structure that's specific to a language or borrowed from another, that's that. People flocking to Andorra or Brussels might have future repercussions on those structures, but at the end of the day, it can be looked at from a detached perspective. And there's no bigger form of detachment than being unable to understand what the fuck you're hearing. Catalan is as Spanish as it is French, and being an offshoot of both, and Latin for good measure, there's not a reality where a Catalan/Valencian/Mallorquin dub (which I've seen all three of, produced for their respected regions [grew up watching One Piece in FOUR different dubs!!]) could ever be considered Spanish, specially to a foreigner, even from another Spanish speaking country. So it's you who are confusing the issue with local politics rather than me, anon. In reality it's about language and not ethnic regional squabbles.
