a few years back, I had a pro Halo 3 gamer try to convince me to become a pro Splatoon 2 gamer. i didnt go for it, and now have a well-paying career that i actually like. he, meanwhile, has seemingly vanished. no idea what happened and i'm a little scared to ask.

point being, yes, pro gaming is - from my experience - not a career worth working.
