>>715801237 (OP)I wonder. I was one of the highest ranked League of Legends players in pre-season 1 and in season 1, always played with all the people that would eventually become pros and I'm certain I could've become one of them, but I just continued my studies instead and played as a hobby.
On one hand because I continued my studies I landed a good fully remote software dev job, and I was able to drop League when it became boring to me, not needing to marry the game like some pros do, big salaries weren't a thing in the west back then so I guess that helped. But on the other hand I kinda regret not giving it a go, seeing how far I would've been able to go, some of the old dudes from s1 ended up going back to their studies and are now employed in regular jobs so going pro for a few years wasn't a harmful pursuit after all.
I don't know, I think you just gotta know when to call it quits, give it a go if you'd like to and when you're too washed just pursue the next thing that makes you happy.
