The actual quality of the game itself has quite literally no relation to the idea that atlus choosing to not put devil summoner in its title implies a lack of trust in the market power of the devil summoner IP. This was a decision made BEFORE the release of the game and they had seen the reception to it. The game did not release with devil summoner on the box, and then have atlus scrub it off post release because people didn't like it.
