I like this. I've always wanted tactical games to be more involved on when a unit "dies", either by giving them permanent scars or injuries. In this case, it wouldn't be permanent, but you'd lose intimacy and stack debuffs the more you let the same girl be shot down repeatedly.

I suppose that would be an option when you make your character. But even if you choose male, some of the girls still call you mother(ship) because they are just annoying like that.
