For me, its not the narcissism because you'll find that in any low level construction site, prison work, etc.

Its just that their lives seem so mediocre. They lead a WalMart/Golden Corral life after all of the failed book tours. Even Jocko Wilink makes surprisingly little money for the amount of time he has plastered his face on platforms for the past 10 years.
