SLP was four or more hours comfortably and ELP could maybe squeeze six hours a tape. Could have worse degredation over time but wasn't a big deal. Majority of VHS at my house recorded off tv were double feature tapes that had two films on it.

The prices in this advert don't seem exorbitant to me, especially not Alienware type prices. Considering they offered DVD drives and dedicated video cards, they had good specs for their time as well.
