I think these luxo brands forget that they sell their cars on white male supremacy. And I'm not talking about white males who buy them, they are the least impressed by their own brothers. But all the post menopausal women, Indians, Arabs, Chinese, they all look up to an image of a cool powerful white man.
If the brand becomes a mirror and show their current actual customers who they actually are, they will stop buying to because they don't see themselves as high status.
They need the illusion or the brand dies.
And I see all of the euro luxury brands do this, they will get some temporary benefit for a generation or two of cars.
