Nigga, I love Italy. I love Italian art, culture, music, cuisine, humor, drama, films, and everything, but I find it sad to see that an Italian thinks of becoming good at foreign languages as a weakness when the primary element of unification of Italy, the Tuscan dialect, had to be spread by the means of mass, compulsory education as a second language.
Italy is home to Romance, Germanic, Hellenic, Slavic, and even Illyrian (Albanian) dialects, all of which enrich Italy's historical heritage, so I believe it is only fair to celebrate being good at both one's native language and other languages. Anything else is simply close-minded bigotry. Besides, to know one's enemy, one must know his language.
