I was worried it would be less special if you saw them earlier in the game, but it does perfectly tie together the two cloning processes.
Doubly so with the inspiration for it, which was the abandoned lab in Jurassic Park 3 where there's a bunch of dinosaur fetuses floating in big glass tubes. I suppose that fits fossil mons as well as Mewtwo.
