It really fleshes out all the character relationships. The best part of it is always just two characters talking eachother or one character monologuing, as the character dialogue just goes really fucking hard.

Put that against the backdrop of a fantasy setting, politics and a greater encompassing war. Suddenly you're invested in the characters enough to actually care about the war and politics and the threat that at any moment one of them will just drop dead becomes increasingly worrisome. God that shit was so good...
