how long have you been playing the game? a minigame that takes like 2 hours to complete and puts you in situations where you die extremely quickly (and has an ending where the penalty for making a mistake is pretty much instant death a lot of the time) is intimidating as hell for a first timer. i know this because i was there not even that long ago and i felt like i needed to really prepare myself to handle that, and i did by spending a few days just dying repeatedly to the pre-mage waves so i could get a handle on positioning and shit. there is a lot to learn going in there, something lost on veterans who forgot what it was like to learn it from scratch
