FF7 has really, really, really good pacing and the remakes all ruin this. You can't get excited for anything because the cool shit starts, then stops, and you wander around in side content bullshit, black ghosts, filler content, or new unwanted cutscenes or characters no one wanted.

One example:
>FF7 Remake has this battle arena side-quest with Hell House (a fan favorite random encounter) complete with dialogue and cutscenes
>my solution: Have Hell House as a boss, but just place it in the area where you normally fight it
>replicate the sector 5 slums almost exactly
