A bit two-minded about it.
On one hand, the hiring a Chinese sensitivity team (CCP propaganda team) is cringeworthy and the article defiantly gave more fuel to the group saying they are adding Cathay to suck on Mao's Dong and open up the Chinese market, and while the faction has some flaws, it now feels like they shiny nature of the faction feels like a needs those flaws brought more to the surface (they may do it in the AJ). Also the fact that the work on Cathay pre-dates the work on TOW and they decided to add it in bothers me for some reason, but I don't know why.
On the other hand, I actually like Cathay and it feels quite unique for a Human faction. And while hiring sensitivity teams is a pretty big red flag, they did end up making a pretty good fantasy China faction IMO, and stuff like the Mountain armour being kept specifically for the mythical parts of Cathay like the Sentinels and Miao's human form is actually a pretty cool detail. And while I hate the idea that if you don't present a cultural influence off perfectly you are some racist, presenting that influence off well can create a more interesting faction, case and point all the anons from this very general that have complained about Kislev's Bears and Ice.
They really just need to go further in depth to the bad parts of Cathay, and add some tongue in cheek references to Cathay's lore, like a General who is lorded as one of the smartest strategists in Cathay's history, and they then show his work from thousands of years ago is shown to an Empire captain it's actually all really basic and common sense stuff.
I mean we can't sell them Opium anymore, so if we can get them addicted to plastic, we may be able to fix the UK economy and balance the budget
