I actually have the opposite view. When I draw tzimisce, I like to have them be elegant and effective designs for whatever purpose they were fleshcrafted for. My personal tzimisce opts to look more innocent and human, so her more monstrous parts can fold inside of her and she remains a wolf in sheep's clothing.
I think viss designs within the game are mostly intentional, and if you were fleshcrafting yourself, you would likely take the time to make the work perfect and smooth. more messy viss is for like. fusing a man's legs together so he can't run away.
