The most popular oracle (I think) is Mythic GME, essentially it's a table/ resolution mechanic that allows you to play without a game master, or in this case emulate one. Some oracles differ in their mechanics but it's the same principle, you typically ask it a yes/no question, determine how likely it is to be a "yes", then roll. The oracle will typically say:
1. yes
2. yes and
3. yes but
4. no
5. no and
6. no but
If it's a "and" in this case, your "yes" also comes with an additional thing. Typically a stronger yes or something else happens. "Yes, but" can be construed as you getting your wish, but there is a caveat/downside. They're super interesting and there are a lot of them out there, even free. Solo games will come with them tacked on for the most part.
>Oh, I see. The game will basically guide me through the steps...
In a way, though you don't have to follow it. As you can see, the requirements for running solo are pretty complex so there is a lot of systemic heavy lifting being done to get the mechanics to flow, such as in ironsworn (that game is free, I recommend watching Me, Myself, and Die on youtube to see that game in action). It can be hard to parse at first but once you understand it's pretty cool.

Let me write something up so you can read it here, I journalled them rather than recorded them, see picrel.
