The reason Zatch Bell is so brilliant is because they aren't puppets, they are actual, overpowered children forced to pair up with humans (generally adults).
Them being inherently much, much stronger than humans but still being children and (usually) being schooled by their human partners is what makes it so good.
Even the demons that are 6'4, edgy, and built like Hercules are still children and act like children.
