In July 1999, IGN reported that Sonic Adventure was still among the top 30 in the Dreamcast sales chart in Japan, despite its 1998 release. They noted that SEGA Japan deserves to be pleased with these latest statistics, as Sonic continues to be the highest seller. This was still a few months out from the western releases.
