Oh this reminds me. Some anime figure collector told me he doesn't understand how any one could collect "gooner" figures as apparently the purpose of having fumos, nendos, figmas and other such is to show them off to other people. Why have a figure that is too sexualized that you would be embarrassed to show it to others?
At this point, I felt really sad, because it is yet another reminder of how otaku culture have changed. I have several dozen anime collectibles all around me, I never felt the need to make photos of them and show them off on the internet. Just being there for me is enough. But look how attention whoring on social media took over otaku culture, like a plague. I want to go back to older times, before social media were a thing.
