take it easy anon. Maybe try painting thinly but not glazed on the model with one brush, and then using a wet brush to dilute the paint up to glaze the surrounding areas whilst still wet. Glazing is very temperamental to me and I try to avoid it since I can never get the same consistency of paint every time.
Or try painting layers with shitty harsh transitions, and then wet blending those transitions softer.
Skin is hard and especially female skin because it's so soft. As another anon said starting darker would be easier if you're doing it without relying on washes since skin is at its basic is 3 colors. Dark -> saturated midtone -> desaturated highlight (and then bright highlights and finishing touches).
So you do the dark -> midtone transition and then to highlight without muddying up the hues with mixing the dark with the desaturated highlight. which would look weird. Dark mixing with the desaturated highlight will look grey, like stubble.
