Did you ever watch Gred Glintstone's video on Elden Ring criticism? A completely unrelated tangent, I know, but it succinctly addresses your question. Much like how Joseph Anderson saw Matthewmatosis' video on DSII and aped it for legitimate industry critique, people see RLM's reviews and instead of taking them as the internet equivalent of humorous watercooler discussion they've assumed it is an actual valid style of criticism and is infallible. It pollutes discussion.
