I'm looking at the reveal post now and i'm a little confused, at first it says the free update that releases with the expansion includes greater variety in maps but then later seems to imply you have to pay for the new biomes and landmarks
caravan improvements sound nice, better tools for designing bases sounds like just the blueprint mods I already have moved into the base game, maybe the quality builder mod too
