You're right that she has no reason to, that's why I'm saying she doesn't count. Cartman has very few positive and stable influences in his life, if any. The entire town doesn't care about him and has given up. His mom blames him. Butters goes along with whatever he says but at least he's always there to emotionally comfort him (and pity him). In all of this, the closest thing to an actual guide figure is Kyle, isn't it?
It doesn't surprise me that Cartman looks up to him, when you really look closely at it. Kyle is everything that Cartman is not, and has everything that Cartman doesn't. That's why he's so hellbent on making him jealous every chance he gets.
