Shame the actual amusement park isn't very interesting. You'd think they'd have minigames all over but the challenges are over in like five seconds and you never see the Zuma one reused past that one challenge.

It's not. Genshin allows you to get skins just by buying Welkins without any need to spend any more money past that because they're spaced out enough that it's reasonable for people to own many of them whereas a skin system that regularly releases skins forces you into buying currency in order to get said skins or outright ignore many of them. Sure, it's good for the game developer's bottom line but for the consumer it sucks because you can never own the skins you want in any reasonable manner.
