I finished this last night and not gonna lie I was in tears by the credits, just like the first game. But I hate the plot of this game regarding Sam, it literally didn't have to exist. It's just misery porn for him. First lose your adopted daughter, lose your sanity, lose your dead wife's loyalty, lose your original dead daughter's paternity, lose Fragile and then regain your adopted daughter who was actually your biological daughter all along but lose out on seeing her grow up. Also the game really doesn't put in effort about making Sam care for Tomorrow, they have the most barebones interactions that end with him mostly walking away. She seemed closer to Rainy and Fragile than Sam, and it was obvious from the start that she was Lou so it was a real missed opportunity.
With the Lucy and Neil stuff, that shit just made me angry. I loved the Neil parts but the cheating was just awful shit. Clearly invented for the second game. What was the point? Why did Lucy have to cheat on Sam why couldn't Neil just have an unrequited crush on her and vow to protect her kid even if it wasn't his? He DID leave her to die. And in the end telling Sam the kid wasn't his was pointless because they still killed her for it anyway assuming it was Sam's kid.
The other NPCs were the saving grace of this game and they were the thing that really touched me. Tarman losing his son, Rainy being outcasted and almost suiciding with her unborn baby, the Doctor being unable to give birth to those babies and killing a kid, Fragile's meaningless death, Dollman losing his body and his daughter (absolutely brutal shit lingering on his dead daughter's tar covered body like that). All of that for absolutely no reason other than the cruelty of the world. Only part that saved the game for me.
