Bottlecap, who was sitting at a café, watched as Anon walked through Ponyville's town Square. Since he arrived she had developed a singular fascination with this creature; the way he ambled around on two legs, how his arms swung as he walked, his peculiar personality, and the way he could manipulate things with his fingers.
>"Hi, Anon! Where're you going?"
"Hi, Bottlecap. I'm just on break. So, I decided to go for a walk."
>Bottlecap saw this as an opportunity, since he wasn't going anywhere in particular. "Well, you wanna come over to my glassworks and see my bottle collection?"
Anon shrugged. "Sure." Anon wasn't all that interested in bottles. He was interested in trains, which is why he was a mechanic at Silver Spanner's locomotive repair yard outside of town. But, he had nothing better to do.
>"Great! Come on, follow me!" Bottlecap was positively giddy with excitement.
As they walked, Anon filled her in on the latest train news. She listened intently, but she was never that interested in trains. Bottlecap was interested in bottles (and glass); making them, selling them, collecting them, putting things in them, etc.
>Soon they arrived at her shop. The sign out front simply read 'Bottlecap's Bottle's'. "Here it is, my humble glassworks and bottle store!" said Bottlecap with no small amount of pride as she motioned to Anon to follow her in.
Stepping into the store part, Anon was presented with display after display of beautifully crafted bottles and jars in all manner of whimsical designs, colors, and shapes. He was genuinely impressed at the detail. "Wow! You made all of these?"
>"Yep! Every single one! And I make each one unique. See, this one I made in a specific shape with a special kind of glass that bends the light best. So it makes rainbows in any light and at any angle! Neat, huh?"
"Yeah! Must have taken a lot of thought and designing." Anon rubbed his chin as he thought about the optics of it.
>Bottlecap nodded and added with a cunning grin, "...And, I might have worked some magic into the glass itself."
"Do ponies in Ponyville really buy so many bottles?"
>"Nah. A few. But, I mostly get a lot of merchants that come through on the railway from bigger cites. They usually buy up a bunch. Sometimes a really rich one comes through and buys up the whole store! They sell 'em in other cities, I guess." After a short pause, she continued. "Here. I'll show you my workshop."
Anon followed her through a hallway that lead to an open-air work area under a roof that provided shade. Everywhere there were work benches, glass working tools, kilns, ovens, blow pipes and other items of the glassmaker's trade. Little bits of glass slag on the floor were a testament to how busy this area was.
>"Well, what do you think?"
