Bottlecap, who was sitting at a cafรฉ, watched as Anon walked through Ponyville's town Square. Since he arrived she had developed a singular fascination with this creature; the way he ambled around on two legs, how his arms swung as he walked, his peculiar personality, and the way he could manipulate things with his fingers.
>"Hi, Anon! Where're you going?"
"Hi, Bottlecap. I'm just on break. So, I decided to go for a walk."
>Bottlecap saw this as an opportunity, since he wasn't going anywhere in particular. "Well, you wanna come over to my glassworks and see my bottle collection?"
Anon shrugged. "Sure." Anon wasn't all that interested in bottles. He was interested in trains, which is why he was a mechanic at Silver Spanner's locomotive repair yard outside of town. But, he had nothing better to do.
>"Great! Come on, follow me!" Bottlecap was positively giddy with excitement.
As they walked, Anon filled her in on the latest train news. She listened intently, but she was never that interested in trains. Bottlecap was interested in bottles (and glass); making them, selling them, collecting them, putting things in them, etc.
>Soon they arrived at her shop. The sign out front simply read 'Bottlecap's Bottle's'. "Here it is, my humble glassworks and bottle store!" said Bottlecap with no small amount of pride as she motioned to Anon to follow her in.
Stepping into the store part, Anon was presented with display after display of beautifully crafted bottles and jars in all manner of whimsical designs, colors, and shapes. He was genuinely impressed at the detail. "Wow! You made all of these?"
>"Yep! Every single one! And I make each one unique. See, this one I made in a specific shape with a special kind of glass that bends the light best. So it makes rainbows in any light and at any angle! Neat, huh?"
"Yeah! Must have taken a lot of thought and designing." Anon rubbed his chin as he thought about the optics of it.
>Bottlecap nodded and added with a cunning grin, "...And, I might have worked some magic into the glass itself."
"Do ponies in Ponyville really buy so many bottles?"
>"Nah. A few. But, I mostly get a lot of merchants that come through on the railway from bigger cites. They usually buy up a bunch. Sometimes a really rich one comes through and buys up the whole store! They sell 'em in other cities, I guess." After a short pause, she continued. "Here. I'll show you my workshop."
Anon followed her through a hallway that lead to an open-air work area under a roof that provided shade. Everywhere there were work benches, glass working tools, kilns, ovens, blow pipes and other items of the glassmaker's trade. Little bits of glass slag on the floor were a testament to how busy this area was.
>"Well, what do you think?"

Looking around, Anon was gaining an appreciation for the technicality of this trade. He liked how the complexity of it mirrored his own work on trains. "This is really impressive, Bottlecap. How long did it take you to learn all this?"
>"I started doing this with my grandpa when I was just a little filly. So, a long time! But, I always end up learning something new about it."
"Kinda like trains! You always come across something new!"
>Bottlecap smiled brightly at the connection they just made.
"Hey! can we fire up the kiln, or whatever, and make something?"
>"Eh. The kilns and ovens have been cold since this morning. It would take a few hours to fire 'em up and get 'em hot."
Anon looked disappointed.
>Bottlecap bit her lower lip with a little apprehension, but she thought of something...something she had been considering for a while. "I know! Wanna see my collection of special bottles?"
Intrigued, Anon answered "Sure. What's so special about them?"
>"You'll see!" said Bottlecap as she trotted toward a set of stairs that led to the basement of the building.
Following close behind, Anon watched as Bottlecap removed several locks when she got to the door. "Must be a valuable collection to warrant all those locks."
>"Oh, it's priceless!" responded Bottlecap through a cunning smile and made Anon a little uneasy. "There we are! Come on in!" she said as the last lock was removed.
Brushing away the unease, Anon stepped into the dark room.

>"This is were I keep some of the best bottles I've ever made! And I like to collect other things in them, too! It's kind of a hobby. Take a look around!" Bottlecap spoke as she went around lighting some of the lanterns in the room to chase away the thick darkness."
Looking around, Anon was treated to the most gorgeous works of glass, or art, he had ever seen; all in the form of bottles or jars. Inside many of the bottles were various curious odds and ends; a bottle full of fancy buttons, one containing interesting feathers, yet another with little crystalline pebbles, and so forth. He stopped at one bottle shaped like a tree, its branches and leaves, small, delicate, and finely detailed. "Bottlecap, these are amazing! How do you even make these? It looks almost impossible."
>The comment caused Bottlecap's pride to soar. "Thanks, Anon! For these bottles I use a lot of special techniques and materials that I wouldn't use on the ones I sell. Each one of these can take months to make!"
The viewing went on with Anon admiring the bottles and Bottlecap describing the inspiration she had for many of them. Finally, Bottlecap decided it was time to show Anon more.
>"Hey I got two other rooms. One with my terrarium bottles and the other with my very best work. Come on!" She led the way through a rickety old door, around a corner, up some steps and through yet another rickety door into a long, brightly lit room with windows on either side and many wooden racks going down the center.
Upon these racks, Anon saw dozens of little terrariums, each a fancy bottle of curiously intricate workmanship. Many were clearly inspired by scenes from nature. This one looked like a pine tree, that one looked like a bear, and so on. Inside each were well manicured little forests of plants.
>"I'm really proud of some of these. I thought about selling terrariums too, but I had started to yet."
Anon marveled at how some of the plants inside actually looked like little miniature versions of the trees he had seen around Ponyville. There were even some that seemed to have miniture rose bushes, and other such tiny versions of larger plants he'd seen. "You know, these kinda remind me of bonsai trees. It's a hobby back on earth where you keep a normal tree, but you keep it small. Only these look like they're actually miniaturized."
>Bottlecap's eyes widened for a moment at the comment, but recovering she asked, "Yeah? So, did you ever make one of those Bon-za trees? I wonder if they do it the same as me."
"Never did have one, but I doubt it's the same as these? Are there miniture little forests in Everfree, or something? Where did you find tiny little trees like this?"
>Bottlecap responded with a cloaked smile. "It's a secret! If I told you, soon everypony would be doing it!"
"Oh. I get it, I guess. Anyway, it's amazing!"

>Bottlecap's eyes became brighter and more eager, almost hungry. "Now for the best part! You'll be so amazed that you'll never want to leave!" Once again, Bottlecap motioned for Anon to follow and she led him through a dark oak door at the end of the room.
Trailing just behind, Anon entered this new room expecting the need to light lanterns again. Instead, he was met with persistent soft glow.
>"There are no bottles like these anywhere in Equestria, Anon. Only I make 'em, and Grandpa taught me how to do it. It takes a long time, and the materials you need are very rare. Takes a while to collect 'em all." Bottlecap quietly shut the door behind them, letting the latch slowly swing back into position. Just as quietly, she turned and extracted the key from the lock.
These sounds escaped Anon's ear as he took in the ethereal scene. These bottles were more exquisite and intricate than any he had seen so far, all in fantastical shapes or representations of real objects with embellishing decoration. What's more is that the glass itself and what was contained within glowed mysteriously. Anon turned and looked to Bottlecap, as if to ask for an explanation.
>Bottlecap just smiled pleasantly. "Take a look around, Anon!"
He did so. First the workmanship of the bottles so impressed him that it captured his entire focus. Then, he began to notice what was inside. In one he saw a blue pony with white mane standing upon a patch of green moss. It had a distinctly glassy appearance but was exquisitely detailed. "I can't believe how good these are, Bottlecap. I can see the individual hairs in this pony's mane. I don't think even the best human glassmakers could do something like that."
>Bottlecap did a little bow in acknowledgment.
Moving on to others, Anon saw other little glass ponies, or trees, or little animals. Each with the same exceptional level of detail. "Wow! Is this some sort of magical glass or something?"
>"In a way it is, but it's not a spell or anything. I don't need a unicorn to do magic on them or anything. I make all these completely myself."
"Oh. You know I didn't mean to insult you. It's just that I've never seen anyting like it."
>"No offense taken, Anon!" Bottlecap's eyes drifted to the table in the center of the room, to a certain bottle there. "You know, I was...um...making a bottle for you."
"Really? But, we hardly know each other, Bottlecap."
>"Mmmm hmmm! I always really liked you. You're, sooooo interesting!" said Bottlecap, looking Anon up and down "...and I wanted to give you an amazing gift."
Anon was overwhelmed, but flattered. "Um, that's really nice of you, Bottlecap. I wish I knew; I would have gotten something for you too."
>"No worries!" Bottlecap trotted over to the table and pointed with a hoof to the bottle. "Here it is!...It's not ready yet, but what do you think? You can hold it if you like." She smiled brightly as she spoke.

The bottle was extraordinary. Like the others, it glowed; this one in a faint blue hue. It had a kind of bulbous shape. Around the base, a train was etched in fine detail. It was in the attitude of traveling around the base. In the background behind the train, a pine forest was etched. In the upper part of the bottle clouds and the sun were sketched on one side; the moon and stars on the other side. All of this was beautifully colored.
>"Go ahead and pick it up, Anon. Do you like it?"
He did so, running a finger along it and then picking it up by the neck with one hand and cradling the bottom in the other. He found that it was warm to the touch, and that it felt irresistible in his hands, like the tingling of static electricity. "Nobody's ever given me something this beautiful, Bottlecap. Are you sure it's ok?
>She just laughed. "Of course it is, silly!" She continued to watch eagerly as he turned it over in his hand.
And, true to his detail oriented nature, Anon was studying the bottle very closely. Drinking in each detail. He even noticed the rivets in the side of the locomotive. As he turned it around, he heard a distinct tinkling from inside. "Well, looks like there's a bit of glass inside."
>Bottlecap knew he couldn't help but notice something small like that; that was its purpose. "Oops! Sometimes little bits of glass get leftover inside when I make bottles." Her face went somewhat flat. "Um...won't you do me a favor...and, um...just kinda dump it out?"
So mesmerized by the bottle, Anon hadn't noticed the shift in Bottlecap's demeanor and voice. "Sure!" Smiling, he gripped the glass stopper to remove it."
>Bottlecap quietly bit her lower lip, her tongue rubbed her upper mouth in anxiety, her eyes fixed like steel on Anon's hand.
Upturning the bottle, Anon released the imprisoned bit of glass on to the floor.
>Bottlecap followed the glass speck to the floor with a blank face. Then raised her eyes to meet Anon's. A terrible, but saccharine grin slowly contorted her face; her pearly white teeth glistened in the glow of her bottles. This smile she presented to Anon. She smiled at him from the darkness.
He smiled at her, oblivious. "No problem." He moved to put the stopper back in the bottle.
>"Ah, no need to re-cork it, Anon. I still need to work on it anyway."
Anon shrugged and placed the bottle on the table, and the stopper next to it. "Sure thing!"
>Bottlecap's excitement grew and she gave a little laugh.
It was contagious and Anon laughed with her. Then he noticed something. He looked at the bottle he had opened, Bottlecap's gift, then at the other bottles. It occurred to him that except for the terrariums, these were the only other bottles he had seen that had stoppers. Curious, he asked the question "So, is it just a matter of style that these ones have stoppers?

>Bottlecap smiled, laughed, and shook her head. "No, silly! It's like with any kind of bottle. The stoppers are to keep what's inside from getting out!" She cocked her head to one side to observe Anon's reaction.
He reacted with a furrowed brow, a raised eyebrow, and a glance to the nearest bottle on the shelves. "But there's nothing inside these. Right? At least they don't seem to have any liquid in them or anything."
>"There's no liquid, but they each have something valuable inside. Each and everyone one! Valuable and...priceless!" Her eyes opened wide to emphasize the importance of what she said, and she let the 's' in 'priceless' drag out like a snake.
He looked to the bottle again. Inside was the blue pony with white mane from before. He could distinctly see its cutie mare and its mane and tail seemed to flutter every so gently and every so slowly, imperceptibly in fact, as if there was a breeze inside the bottle. Anon suddenly felt the urge to leave as soon as possible. He glanced at his watch. "Uh, I uh...it looks like my break is about to end. I better get going!"
>"No rush, Anon. You have all the time in the universe now!"
As a distinct and growing feeling of weakness began to wash over him, Anon lunged for the door and tried the handle, locked. "It's locked! Why is it locked? What's going on?"
>She responded simply by smiling and trotting in place.
Besides weakness, Anon began to feel a kind of sickly thinness. "What did you do?...Give me the key!" He stepped toward Bottlecap, but his legs were no longer strong enough to hold himself up and he collapsed to the floor.
>"Anon, don't worry! Don't be afraid! Everything is fine! It's good...really really really good!" She was giddily dancing in place.
Anon managed to push himself up to a sitting position with his back propped up against the door. I tried to raise his arm and held it outstretched. "Please! Help!" Looking to his hand, it seemed to Anon that it had become translucent.
>Meanwhile, Bottlecap had trotted up to Anon so that they were face to face. She nuzzled her nose against his and gave him a kiss. "I am helping you, Anon. You see, you see! You had to open it willingly. Willingly!" Her face became serious. "If I forced you to open it...or I opened it at you, it would have been death for you." her face broke out into a pleasant smile again and her voice became sot and supple. "But you did it yourself. So you will live forever." Now tilted her head and twirled a hoof, as if thinking to herself. "Well yes, live forever, but kinda paused at the same time."
Anon looked on with horror. He felt himself grow weaker, and thinner. Then he began to feel as if he was falling faster and faster, like he was being drained away in the direction of the bottle. He saw filaments of light emanating from him toward the opening of the bottle.

>Bottlecap continued to nuzzle his nose and rub her check against his. "Shhhh. No fear, Anon. There's nothing to be afraid of. You'll just be here with me, and I'll take care of you. Doesn't that sound nice? I promise, and I love you!" she whispered.
"I...I...I..." Anon tried to say something, but he felt his mind slow and crystalize into stasis.
>Bottlecap gave him one last loving kiss before the remainder of Anon's essence passed into the bottle and he was gone. She trotted over to the table, took up the stopper in her mouth and placed it back into the mouth of the bottle.
>Smiling, Bottlecap pulled up a large cushion that was resting against wall and sat down on her haunches facing the bottle. With a satisfied sigh, she folded her forelegs on the table and rested her head on them so that she could gaze into the bottle at her little glass Anon.
Anon stared back at her in silence.
>She scrutinized his details. Everything from his hat to the grease smudges on his coveralls was preserved in life-like detail.
Anon's gaze was fixed in one direction.
>Her gaze grew seductive. "Mmmm! You're so handsome, Anon! Soooo, beautiful. Soooo, interesting! And Iove those deep brown eyes you have! What? Why yes!" She rolled her head to the side and relaxed her eyelids. "Yes, I'd love to marry you."
Anon looked on in stoic silence.
>"Hmmm? Oh, how does it work?" She paused to nuzzle the bottle before continuing. "Boop!...You see, my grandpa really did teach me how to do it. How to make the bottles, how to enchant the materials. How to anneal the magic in the glass, and..."
Anon quietly listened.
>"What? How did he know ho to do it? He was in their majesties' secret magical corps. He could do things unicorns couldn't. He put that to work helping to protect Equestria...that sort of thing." She raised a hoof in conclusion of that story. "Anyway, he passed a lot of his tricks on to me."
Anon considered all these details in glassy stillness.
>Her gaze became seductive again. "Mmmmm!" her tongue flicked out and she ran it up and down the bottle, feeling its warmth, feeling Anon's warmth. It emanated his masculine scent and she breathed it in greedily. She rubbed her check against and hummed a soothing tune to Anon.
Anon showed his assent in his lack of protest.
>Overcome with her feelings, Bottlecap wrapped her forelegs around the bottle and flopped down with it on to the cushion. She licked it, nuzzled it, rubbed her check against it. The room was filled with the sound of her sigs and hums. She pressed it against herself; against her chest, her belly, her legs. It was pressed and moved against her teats; it was made to gently touch other parts of her.
Anon experienced all this, and more, from his vantage in the bottle.

Anon did not respond, but Bottlecap knew that he did, in fact, respond to her.
>She made her way to the door and unlocked it. Before she shut it gently behind her she called out "Good night everypony! Sweet dreams, and don't let the bed bugs bite!"
All the glass ponies whispered their response so quietly that nopony could have heard it.

>Never really been a fan of those, but I might have to take a look. Writing this one has got me a little interested.
Yeah, Bottlecap in your story (which is kino!) gave off strong yandere vibes. As in "I love you, and I don't want you to be around anypony but me so I've trapped you in a bottle, and now you're always where I want you to be!", while rubbing the bottle against all over herself.
It doesn't help that the inspiration material is about a butthurt asshole immuring an another asshole because his noble family failed and he is now a poorfag, while the latter is an alcoholic pleb who didn't truly deserve his ascension into the higher society.
It feels like some sort of a subversion of TCoA that has the theme of revenge of a man that used to be a friend of the guy but grew to hate him replaced with one of yandere's possesive love of a person that barely knows her: Anon, a person who isn't interested in bottles gets lured in one. Fortunato on the other hand, is a person interested in some fine booze, that gets lured into a niche in Montresor's basement that doesn't have any booze. Bottlecap traps Anon, who barely knows her, because she's "interested" in him, and then outright says that she loves him before cuddling the bottle. Montresor, Fortunato's friend actually hates him and insults him while sealing the vault.

Retarded word salad above aside, since we are at it, I want to write a Bottlecap green but that one would be much less interesting, not a creepy story with an interesting worldbuilding but some pregnant marecuddles instead because I want to write something wholesome for once instead of the same clop.

Not the same writefag and overall this green is unrelated to the one above.

>She didn't own some factory with multiple workers, everything presented in the shop is the work of one single mare, blue in a lot in the visual features of hers, but not in her personality
>Right now she's on her seventh month, the belly just getting visibly rounded as your child inside of her grows, but still not enough to be heavy nor heavily nutritionally taxating to impair her in any way
>Your mind drifts off into memories of how you met her, and how did your relationship bloom into a loving marriage
>How you met a young and a very pretty blue mare when Berry Punch invited you for drinks for the first time, arguing that "passing a few cups of wine" would be good for you
>She was delivering bottles to the pink winemaker, and you could deduce her occupation by her cutie mark, engaging in small talk with her
>Even while not getting drunk that evening yet, you've chatted with the blue glassblower a lot, getting quite close to her

>You talked with each other more and more
>You met on the streets saying hi, then you met her at Berry since she was the pink mare's drinking buddy, often seen together during evenings

>Her glass art is accountable for a good portion of bits gained from the total sales, as it's much more expensive than an ordinary bottle
>Getting up on her hindlegs and placing the heart on the table, she gently smiles at you with that one kind of a smile that makes your own heart melt
>It's not the first heart she made for you, the first one is from before you were married, and ever since then they have a special place in you
>You're always so gingerly with them, as they mean much more to you than a mere pretty piece of glass, they mean your mare's love for you, her soul, her own heart that you never break, likewise with her glassworks

"But they didn't force you to make bottles as soon as you learned how to talk. If you wouldn't force her and instead show her your art like your mom did, she would become enraptured with it just like you."

Nice work, Anon. Very comfy and warm story. I like vignette story's like this that give glimpses int the thoughts and lives of ponies and such. No really overall purpose other than to show good feelings between the two characters. Makes one smile.
>Finally not writing soulless clop for once.
Yeah, it does get old writing that. It's nice to write stories without it. It lets you explore things in a much more broad way. However, when I do incorporate it, I try to attach it to the broader story and spend a lot of time developing the growth of feelings between the two so that it is a part of the story rather than being the point of the story. Then, when it happens in the story it's not just "sex 'cuz unf unf plap plap". In other words, it pays to create depth in a story so that a sex scene, if included, has foundation and meaning rather than being soulless like you said. The downside is that stories like that can be long, and so, Anons won't read them.

And yeah, clop can be a hit or miss with the audience if doesn't solely focus on characters plapping each other. I usually try to explain how Anon and his mare waifu ended up with each other but it often comes off as shallow as fuck because I really did it for the sake of it, doesn't make clop not soulless.

Is there a way to watch a certain type of thread? I would have nearly missed it!

I am not sure because I never tried it, but on the catalog the little triangle icon next to a thread has a "pin" option. Maybe that will doe something equivalent.

Wow. This is a type of autism I have never encountered. How does one categorize bottlecaps so as to organize them?

Anon's been lazy, and hasn't thrown out all of the bottle caps he has lying around, from his excessive soda consumption. The trash ponies only collect metal on every second thursday, and he always misses it.
Bottlecap is over at his place, for whatever reason, and spots a rare collectors cap, that anon naturally had no idea about. Of course, Bottlecap is excited and being very cute about it.

Very cute, Anon! I am not interested in bottles caps, but her smile in this picture makes me want to sit down with her while she tells me all about her collection. Cheers, and thanks for giving some love to a little known background mare.
