People that had played nothing but comfy games like Farmville and Animal Crossing New Horizons got to experience peak CRPG gameplay, and when they passed their ability checks they got a dopamine rush unlike anything they had felt before.

It received praise because it did what previous CRPGs did to an excellent degree, and although I still prefer BG1 to BG3, I still like BG3.
